John’s global scope and unique leadership in speciality coffee comes from unparalleled end-to-end experience in the industry. He has been in involved in roasting, import and export, sourcing and procurement, research and product development, growth strategy, sales and distribution, as well as overseeing major coffee production infrastructure and project management. This has afforded John a ‘holistic’ vision of speciality coffee and beverages, allowing him to see and set the trends, such as establishing ‘formulated coffee water’ back in 2008 and establishing a coffee roasting business and brand in 2013.
John’s passion for innovation and growth in specialty coffee now sees his attention switch to TOTEMIC where he continues to harness new technologies while building a global network of specialty coffee brands and artisan roasters.

Marilyn brings the aesthetic eye and artistic vision to TOTEMIC. As a student of interior architecture, Marilyn is latte art on a rich brew of interior design and artistic influences, including ceramic art, music, literature, and photography. A natural progression of sorts led Marilyn to her equally varied background in integrated brand management. She showcases an extensive and successful portfolio of carrying conceptual brands into real-world environments, and as a result knows what works. Marilyn is adept at identifying trends and has a keen eye for the beauty of potential.
